Crafty Lady I've never knitted a sock before- or really ever had that desire to yet. I have a really short attention span with my knitting so far and haven't wanted to put that much time into them yet (or two mittens, sweaters, etc) I recently was searching through Christmas stocking patterns figuring it would be a great way to try a sock- that required minimal DPN's. It was really quick and turned out great, if I do say so myself. And I even cast on the wrong number of stitches so I had to fudge a bit with the heel- and it still looks good! So it's now my FIL's Christmas gift- filled of course. I'm starting on a similiar one for my MIL using three strands of wool ease red sprinkles. The stockings have sort of a timeless feel to them I think. Here's the link to the pattern I used- I'd recommend it http://pickinandthrowin.blogspot.com/200 The first post of a new blog is always a bit unnerving. It sets the whole tone for a blog. Is the blogger funny, boring, interesting, lame, etc. This blog will simply be for my knitting, crocheting and sewing so it may seem quite lame to some. I have a MUCH more exciting homeschool blog so keep that in mind =) Here's some pictures of a baby set I'm making. Does it look like a basketball on the hat- or just an orange blob? The blanket is one big crocheted granny sqaure, that I need to finish. ![]() ![]() And here's a picture of the original hat- the football helmet from the itty bitty hat book. It turned out HUGE and looks more like an old fashioned pilot hat to me. Which I do like so I may try to make it smaller next time. ![]() That's it for now. Time to start school. |
